Sunday Adventure – Ben Lui

On Sunday a group of intrepid Ardvreck adventurers joined myself, Miss Whitelaw and Mr Davey for an ascent of Ben Lui, Scotland’s 28th highest mountain. The team of 14 were in good spirits for the drive to Tyndrum where the climb began with a crossing of the River Lochay, fortunately not in spate at the time! A very boggy path was followed through the woodland to the foot of the mountain. A steep climb either side of lunch eventually yielded the summit with spectacular views across the west of Scotland. The rocky descent was certainly speeded up with the promise of jelly babies from Mr Davey at the head of the corrie and fish and chips in Tyndrum. Well done for a determined team effort from the children and a first Munro for a handful – hopefully not their last! (Mr Andy Robertson)
