Form 5 Geography Field Day

On Friday 19th May, all of the Fifth Form accompanied Miss McLeod, Mr Van Blerk and I on a rivers themed field trip to the Aberfeldy area. A morning of canyoning in Keltney Burn; scrambling over rocks, jumping into pools and swimming through fast flowing water, let the classes see at first hand the processes of erosion and transportation discussed in class at close quarter. After a swift lunch, we moved downstream to the River Tay at Aberfeldy, spotting meanders and examples of lateral erosion on our way down the river in a group of white water rafts. There was also time for some games, swimming and plenty of splashing!  Many thanks to Splash Whitewater in Aberfeldy for assisting us with the trip. (Mr Andy Robertson)
