Girls’ Cricket v Gordonstoun

On Wednesday it was the girls turn to show the boys how to play cricket. Our match was against Gordonstoun on a beautiful summer’s day played at home. The match was set out so the girls were in pairs and batted for four overs and each girl bowled two overs. We had won the toss and elected to field. All of the girls bowled exceptionally well considering they had only had one training session. With some excellent bowling from Flo A, Ottie B and Maudie G, we managed to restrict Gordonstoun to 75 runs for four wickets. With all the rounders experience the girls have they did amazingly well at smashing the ball and running. Credit for great batting goes to Connie T, Fennella B and Iona M who smashed a whopping 41 runs in her four overs with the help of her partner to secure an Ardvreck victory with a total of 95 runs for five wickets. A fantastic result for the girls and hopefully they all had an enjoyable time. Thank you to the parents who came down to support our girls, the win was worth it!  (Mr Tim Summers)
