Word has reached us from France that Form 5 are having the most wonderful time at Chateau de la Baudonnière.
Here is a synopsis from the first two days::
A long, gruelling but fun journey had us arrive at Chateau de la Baudonnière. After 21 hours in the coach Form 5 were very pleased to have arrived in Normandy and continue their “adventure” as one referred to the journey. Although tired the children all put a huge amount of effort into their first day and many of the boys even ordered croissants and pain au chocolats on the ferry in french to get them into the swing of things. The staff at the Chateau welcomed us with open arms. They are very fond of Ardvreck and have missed us. We are very happy to be back!
Our first full day here saw us doing some archery, french lessons and the marvellous muddy assault course in the morning. In the afternoon we drove away from the chateau to be guided across the bay at Mont St Michel in glorious sunshine! We had a lovely picnic supper in the sun and then had a sports tournament in the evening.
As we returned to the chateau this evening one child announced that although this was “the first day of the trip it is already the best week ever”.
Our Form 5 parents are being sent wonderful daily photographs and updates. Here is a selection of the first few days. More will appear as they come through:
