Mac House Bake Sale

On Friday 26th May, in addition to the Form Three Science Fair, the Finlay Hall was festooned with bunting and an amazing array of delicious cakes as the Mac House boys enthusiastically ran the much anticipated Mac House Bake Sale. The Erskine girls and Mac boys channelled their inner Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood baking skills to create edible and eye catching creations. Some of the staff also got creative and quite competitive, eager to impress with their baking skills!

It was particularly great to see our talented Mac bakers displaying their signature bakes, which they baked in their kitchens at home. Hamish L was extremely effective in the role of manager ensuring a high level of customer care by the Mac Boys. The boys thoroughly enjoyed their retailing experience!  We were also delighted with the fabulous home baked favourites which our parents kindly brought in, which added to the delicious choices on offer.

The money raised, which amounted to an amazing £420, will go towards developing Mac house.  We hope to invest in resources which will be used by Mac boys and also visiting girls and juniors with donations also made to Erskine and Junior House.  We were delighted by the support for this popular event by parents, our visiting French families, staff and pupils. Thank you to the kitchen staff for providing teas and coffees and to the Erskine girls for helping.  The biggest thank you goes to the Mac Boys for running a very enjoyable and successful Bake Sale and for providing a wonderful start to our glorious sunny half term break.
