U13 Girls Hockey- Scarborough College 19/11/17

On Sunday 19th November the U13 girls continued their sport filled weekend with a Hockey match against Scarborough college who were on tour. After a leisurely morning the girls gathered together on the gravel and welcomed Scarborough to Ardvreck. India led both teams down to the Astro, which was a little frozen to get warmed up. We decided that we would play 4 lots of 10 minutes, India did the toss which Ardvreck lost and so Scarborough had the first push back. The Ardvreck girls started off incredibly strongly, using the width well, always having options to pass to, creating space, the girls were on form and this paid off with a goal. At half time we were 1-0 up. After an encouraging team talk from Mrs Kinge and me the girls were ready to get back on the pitch and really give it everything they had. Unfortunately the girls had a slight dip and this allowed Scarborough to score making the score 1-1. With the minutes counting down the Ardvreck girls did not have long to pull this back but with sheer determination, in the last 3 minutes, Flo scored the winning goal. Well done to all the girls, it was a great weekend of sport. (Miss Beamish)
