U9 Netball- Loretto 24/01/18

On Wednesday 25th January, the Under 9’s netball team braved the storms and headed off to Loretto. With Mr Hanna providing inspirational music to fire their competitive spirit, they arrived ready to challenge the opposition.
We lost the toss but got off to a strong start. Loretto were first to score and this was the catalyst to strengthen our defence. We gained possession and sent the ball swiftly to Addison O, our Goal Shooter who scored the first goal for Ardvreck. This was swiftly followed by another goal from Jemima then another from our Captain, Addison. Our girls were on fire! The whistle blew and we assembled for a quick team talk. Our targets were to chase the ball and for our goal attack and goal shooters to keep their arms up to catch the ball. Back we went to the court, ready for the second quarter. Loretto sneaked in a goal at the start but, as before, we made a hasty comeback with two goals from Jemima which took the score to 5-4 to Ardvreck. The weather was proving to be thoroughly unpleasant with lashing rain and strong winds so, despite the hardy Ardvreck spirit, we decided to stop the match and hold the team cheers inside. After a delicious match tea, we headed home in high spirits after our first win of the term. Well done, girls! (Ms Henderson)
