Boys Hockey- Colts, U9 and U13 B v Belhaven 14/03/18

U9-
We travelled to Dunbar to play Belhaven. Ardvreck’s ‘A’ team lost 5—0 to Belhaven. Our defending could have been better and we clumped together. Then our ‘B’ team lost four goals to two to Belhaven. Struan M scored both goals, with Joel VB setting the second goal up nicely. (Mr Gibson)

Colts-
The Colts ended the hockey season in style. Our goal keepers kept a clean sheet. Actually, Bellhaven were not able to get past our two steadfast backs at all. Our midfielders ran the show. Xan A saved his best for the last match of the season and was OUTSTANDING. Our forwards were provided with an endless supply of ball and scored six goals to Belhaven’s 0. An impressive performance by all and the perfect way to end our season. Well done to you all! (Mr Van Blerk)

U13-
The U13 2nd team travelled to Glenalmond to play Belhaven. The boys were very eager to play.
The game was very tight. In the first half of the match we played a lot in out half of the field, this challenged our defence but they did extremely well. There were a few times were the defence managed to get the ball down the line to the strikers who got the ball into the D and had a few good shots at the Belhaven’s goal keeper but didn’t manage to get passed him.  Belhaven managed to score 2 goals and we were down 2-0 at the end of the first half. After some motivation and tactical advice the boys we ready and eager to come back onto the field and beat Belhaven.

Within a couple of minutes in the second half of the game the boys managed to score their first goal which brought excitement and motivation that they could actually win the game. The boys played extremely well throughout this half and strung their passes between their own teammates and managed to score another goal making it 2 all. In the last 2 minutes of the game Belhaven managed to get the ball and score another goal leaving it 3-2 in the last minute.

The boys were very disappointed with a 3-2 loss but very pleased with the way they played throughout the game. We ended off the day with a nice match tea. (Miss Van Blerk)
