Netball- U13 vs Mowden Hall

Following a slightly delayed start, an amalgamated Ardvreck team of A and B players took to the court against Mowden Hall’s touring team. With Mowden taking first centre pass, the Ardvreck girls soon saw just how nifty these girls were! Their shooters almost never missed and their communication was excellent. By quarter time the score was 6-0. However, the Ardvreckians improved as the match progressed, managing to score a goal in the second quarter. The girls responded well to both my advice and that of their captain Abi C. In particular, Maria HS elongated her marking stance in order to aid her defence and Isla and Sacha FP developed their communication to ensure the attacking circle was not left empty. With enthusiastic encouragement from Mrs Kinge during the second half of the match, the girls improved significantly. Ottie B, Kristina B and Abi C worked well together to speed the ball down the court and the Fox-Pitts scored a further three goals. Although the final result was 17-4, this gap would have been significantly larger had it not been for the relentless defence of Daisy H. Despite the loss, and the intermittent snow blizzards, the girls thoroughly enjoyed the match and socializing with the Mowden girls at the post match team tea. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who once again came to support Ardvreck. (Miss Whitelaw)
