Athletics is a major sport for all boys and girls during the summer term. Training is offered in high jump, long jump, shot put, javelin, discus and track events. There are three major competitive events during the term, including the school Sports Day when pupils compete to earn points for their houses (Barrie, Burns, Buchan and Scott). Pupils also compete individually with ribbons awarded for first, second and third place and cups for many events. The best junior, intermediate and senior boys and girls overall are awarded the Victor and Victrix Ludorum trophies.
The best athletes in the school are invited to take part in the Scottish I.A.P.S. Championships, which take place at Fettes College, Edinburgh.
The final fixture of the term is the Blairmore Cup, a triangular fixture with Aberlour House and Lathallan School that has been competed annually since 1975. This is a team competition for seniors and intermediates.
