Girls from age five to thirteen enjoy taking part in hockey sessions.  There is an emphasis on building skills with the correct technique so that by the time girls leave Ardvreck they are versatile and competent hockey players.

Learning how to play as part of a team, rather than an individual is also an important part of the coaching message.  Competitive fixtures are played against other schools across Scotland and the North of England, with teams at Under 9, 11 and 13 playing on a regular basis. Every girl has the opportunity to represent the school.

The standard of girls’ hockey at Ardvreck is extremely high and a large proportion of the senior girls are selected each year to play for the West of Scotland Prep Schools Team.
