Loretto Match News – 4 October!

Success for the 2nds!

We travelled to Loretto to face them once again on . We were met by a far more determined team this time but our resolve stood firm once again. Thomas P lead the charge, Jamie L was our ‘blitz’ attack in the wide channels; Raphe P, Jack H and Jago M smashing pathways down middle. The match ended a fair 46-14. Every single player contributed to the performance and that made the coach very, very proud. Well done boys. (Mr Van Blerk)

U9’s Draw!

The Under 9 Rugby Team played their first match of the season against Loretto. Joel B and Jamie F frequently drove into the opposition. There were some amazing tackles by Rory H. Tries are a team effort. However special mention must go to Jamie F who managed to score three tries and Struan M who managed to score four tries. The match ended in an 8 try draw. (Mr Gibson)

Colts B’s

The Colts B were up against Loretto for the second time this term. This match was split into 10 minute thirds. The boys had a great start to the match leading after the first break 4 tries to 1. The Colts continued to score more tries throughout the coarse of the match ending the game 12 tries to 4. All the boys played brilliantly in both attack and defence which was very pleasing to see. I look forward to watching these boys next week as I am seeing improvement every time they play. (Mr Summers)

Ardvreck vs Loretto U10’s Hockey – 3-3 Draw

On Wednesday the Under 10 girls had their first match. Our team involved girls from Form 2/1, 2 and 3 and all of them were certainly up for a fight! Kiki P captained our team, strongly supported by all her fellow players. The match was half pitch which made it very exciting as the ball flew quickly from one end of the pitch to the other in a matter of seconds.

Jemima B and Molly G were our defenders and did a fantastic job of implementing the tactics and tips they had been offered before the match. Jemima had some particularly accurate and forceful sweeps up the right to Brooke B who made a brilliant effort to free herself from her marker.

As centre half, Sinead M covered a huge amount of ground and her determination to get every ball set a wonderful example to the rest of the team. Her passes most often reached our attacking duo, Kiki and Amelia P, who were ready to sprint for every ball.

Naomi T and Alexandra P are new to hockey this term so are doing very well to be taking part in matches. Naomi T has made a marked improvement since the start of the term and both of them are gradually getting the hang of man marking.  Well done for a fantastic attitude girls; looking forward to your next match! (Miss Whitelaw)
