The final game of the Colts season came in tricky conditions down in Melrose. It was soggy to say the least! They had two very fast wingers that we didn’t always close down quickly enough and so they scored a few break away tries. However we put them under constant pressure and the 4-2 result (including a very late try) does not reflect the amount of possession and territory the Ardvreck boys had in a very hard and closely fought game. It was a very good effort from the side back to full strength and they were unlucky not to come away with something from the match. A great season and constant improvement – well done the Colts!
On Wednesday the 22nd of November the Colt B team travelled down to the Borders for a Rugby match against St Mary’s. The boys started off very hesitant and missed tackles early on resulting in a few St Mary’s tries. With the score being 0-4 to St Mary’s at half time the boys needed to start moving the ball wide and to drive forward. And drive forward they did scoring two tries thanks to Rory M and Sandy N to bring us back into the game. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to score anymore tries whereas St Mary’s scored a couple more to end the match in a 2-6 loss. This was the last match of the season for the Colts B, it wasn’t the result we were looking for but I am very proud of the boys and how much they have improved over the course of the season.
