It was an extraordinary privilege and an honour to be invited to represent Scotland at the Commonwealth Celebration concert as part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London. The pipers of the pipe band travelled by plane down to London to perform at this spectacular celebration. This event only takes place every 2 years in a different city around the world, and to be asked to perform, demonstrates the incredible standard of our piping community at Ardvreck. The pupils talents shone as they opened and closed a concert featuring musicians from across the commonwealth including the exceptional Purcell School for Young Musicians which regularly boasts BBC young musician winners and Gayatri Nair a semi-finalist in this years Voice. We were proud to be able to be a part of this astonishing gala performance. Well done to all pipers involved.
