Whilst we have a strong French connection, we also welcome children from around the world.

We welcome children from across Europe, British children whose parents live or work abroad and also those further afield who come to enjoy our first class education in a Scottish setting. We are very proud of our Scottish heritage and relish sharing Scottish traditions with our international visitors.

From 1 January 2021, international pupils who want to attend Ardvreck can stay in the UK as a student for up to 6 months but may need a Visitors Visa. You will need to apply for a Short-term Study Visa if your child will be in the UK for more than 6 months and up to 11 months. You will need a Child Student visa if you want your child to attend Ardvreck for more than a year.  (A Child Student visa lasts for six years so they can come back to visit again).

TRANSPORT

Ardvreck School is perfectly located between two international airports and a short drive from a well-connected train station with daily, direct trains to London. Both airports are under an hour's drive from our stunning, rural Perthshire location. 

We offer bespoke travel options to Glasgow and Edinburgh international airports as well as chaperoned, direct trains from London to Gleneagles. 

EXEAT WEEKENDS

We understand the importance of fixed exeats for international families as well as the provision of exceptional pastoral care, stability, continuity of care and a warm familial welcome that creates a happy and supportive home from home. All of our oversees pupils have the opportunity to be placed with an Ardvreck family for our Exeat weekends (our weekends out). We would encourage our pupils from oversees to spend time with their families for Half Term holidays either at home or in Scotland, for a bit of R&R! 

Communication Is Key

At Ardvreck we see communication as vitally important and the children will be encouraged to contact home regularly to update their families on all that they have achieved and enjoyed. All the house staff are easily contactable by phone or by email and will be in touch regularly with parents.

The communication between the Dalvreck staff is also very important and weekly meetings, along with less formal more frequent meetings, will guarantee that each and every child in the boarding community is well cared for and nurtured. The soft skills of leadership, teamwork, empathy, cross cultural understanding, social ease and self-belief will blossom, and, of course, boarders will learn the all-important skill of where to hide their illegal tuck!

At Ardvreck we nurture and nourish our children. They are provided with a healthy balanced diet, freshly prepared in our school’s kitchen.
