The Daily School Run
We have a fleet of modern vehicles for transporting our pupils. While the buses are used for the morning and evening school runs, during the day they are used for taking pupils on trips, challenges and adventures.
Safety is of the utmost importance to Ardvreck and all drivers, who transport pupils, are required to undertake a MiDAS driving assessment and the majority of Ardvreck teachers hold a current MiDAS certificate. All have a MiDAS driving assessment before using any school vehicle.
Our Routes
For our day pupils, we are continually looking at routes which will assist parents with the daily school run. If any other routes would assist you with the school run please contact the school office to register your interest.
At present we operate four daily routes:
PERTH, BANKFOOT & DUNKELD
Starting from Inveralmond, in Perth, the route travels up the A9 to Bankfoot before reaching the communities of Birnam and Dunkeld. This route proves very popular since it provides both a morning collection and an evening drop off service.
ABERFELDY
Many of our families live in the Aberfeldy area and this provides an excellent hub for the bus to stop to transport pupils to Ardvreck. The return journey also extends to Dunkeld to assist our younger pupils who live to the east of the area.
AUCHTERARDER & DUNBLANE
Transporting families from Stirling, Bridge of Allan, Dunblane, Braco, Blackford, Dunning and Auchterarder.
COMRIE
A daily Ardvreck school bus runs daily from Comrie as many of our pupils reside in its embrons.
A LITTLE FURTHER AFIELD
We assist our boarding pupils by organising our transport to train stations and airports for going home at exeat, half-term or holidays. We offer bespoke travel options to Glasgow and Edinburgh airports as well as chaperoned, direct trains from London to Gleneagles.
As Ardvreck School is in the heart of rural Perthshire, we benefit from a perfect central location within an hour’s reach of Glasgow and Edinburgh International airports. Between both airports there are daily flights to London, Paris, Berlin, Dubai and many other international destinations.
Allowing your child to board at Ardvreck School they will experience clean, non-polluted air, extensive green space and mountain top to seafaring adventures. We nurture self-belief and confidence, giving children every opportunity to find their inner genius and develop full potential.
At exeat, half term and end of term the school can arrange transport to airports, railway and bus stations. Many parents find this service extremely useful. If you are wishing to use this service please liaise with the school office regarding the station and the time of the bus, plane or train. This will enable the office to advise you as to whether or not our service will connect with your main transport.
