Ardvreck School presents donation to Tayside Mountain Rescue

Ardvreck School proudly marked the official launch of its brand-new high ropes course with an exciting and symbolic opening event. As part of the celebration, the school was delighted to present a donation of over £1700 to Tayside Mountain Rescue, its chosen school charity of the year.
The cheque was presented to Team Leader, Jon Sanders, from Tayside Mountain Rescue, recognising the incredible hard-work and dedication of the volunteer-led service that provides life-saving assistance across challenging terrain. The funds were raised through various pupil-led initiatives and community efforts, reflecting Ardvreck’s commitment to instilling a strong sense of service and responsibility in its pupils.
Adding to the adventure of the day, the high ropes course was officially opened in spectacular fashion by a descendant of the founder of the Special Air Service (SAS), who made a dramatic zipline entrance to break the ceremonial ribbon. The course, designed to challenge and inspire, enhances Ardvreck’s outdoor education offerings, fostering resilience, teamwork, and confidence among pupils.
The launch also highlighted the Scottish Adventure School (SAS) at Ardvreck School – an exciting residential outdoor education provider based in Crieff, which offers adventurous experiences for schools and youth groups. Through The Scottish Adventure School, Ardvreck continues to champion outdoor learning, developing skills in leadership, problem-solving, and self-reliance among young people.
“We are immensely proud to support Tayside Mountain Rescue and to contribute to their vital work,” said Ali Kinge, Headmistress of Ardvreck School. “Adventure and gratitude are central to our ethos at Ardvreck, and this event beautifully encapsulated both, from our thrilling high ropes launch to the meaningful donation made possible by our incredible school community.”
The new high ropes course is now open and will serve as a key element in Ardvreck’s outdoor education programme, ensuring that pupils continue to embrace adventure and challenge in a safe and structured environment.
